Our Functional Organization
Our team consists of three groups that work closely with one another and our clients in support of our student, prospective student, alumni, faculty, employer, and staff stakeholders. Many functions of our three groups are shared responsibilities. At the heart of our organization is our focus on delivering solutions. This is where our three groups intersect. Desktop & Infrastructure: The infrastructure group supports individuals with their computer hardware, printing, PDA, remote access or desktop software needs.
Software Development: Behind the scenes are many integral applications that assist administration with content management, event registration, databases, and the simplification of complicated processes.
Web Publishing & Design: The Web Publishing group manages our clients' Web sites and supporting communication materials. This includes branding, communication strategy, design, content management, illustration and photography.
HIGHLIGHTED SOLUTIONS
Web Applications
Bugzilla is our change request tracking and management system. Through Bugzilla, we can efficiently process large amounts of requests from our clients and maintain histories of all requests made. All requests sent to ccit@columbia.edu are automatically routed to this system.
Calendar 3 is an events calendar system that provides templatization, registration management, and e-commerce. Calendar 3 is a precursor to Sundial.
E-Community is a secure electronic community designed to enable College and Engineering alumni to stay in touch with each other and participate in the life of the University, wherever they might live. Features include discussion boards, alumni directory lookup, marketplace, a professional services network, and much more.
LionLink provides Columbia College and Engineering students access to their peers' academic and contact information, as in the University Directory. In addition, LionLink offers student photos, student activities, and hometown information. Students may browse or search by such data as School, Class Year, Major, and even Residence Hall Floor.
Sundial is the University-wide calendaring system providing distributed authorship, information approval workflows, mass-personalization, development interfaces, registration management, and e-commerce within a mature security model.
Unify is an integrated application for Academic Affairs and Advising staff members. Unify provides the following features: Course Bulletin Editor, Cross-Listings Manager, Document Repository, Departmental/Latin Honors Recommendations, Uniform Subject Advising Sheets Editor (Major Advising).
Wildfire provides a permissions-based content management system incorporating simple publication workflows for the management and publication of dynamic content to online mediums. Through a web services interface, one might integrate Wildfire within their online projects. Wildfire additionally provides for offline sends, delegated sends, the mass-personalization of emails, and the construction of newsletters sourcing from its content repository.

The Columbia University Center for Career Education helps undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni learn about the relationship between what they do at Columbia and life after graduation, develop the career competencies required beyond classroom knowledge, understand the forces at play in the global market and the new economy, find career opportunities related to their personal and professional objectives, and through their life’s work make a difference in the world.
Columbia College is a relatively small, coeducational, residential college situated in a large and complex university.
