Position is available for Fall 2009. The Web Design Intern will be responsible for the creating designs for Web sites of Columbia College, Division of Student Affairs, and the Center for Career Education. Responsibilities include assisting in the design, layout, organization and integration of Web content and online services. The Web Design Intern will sharpen technical skills, develop a deeper understanding of content management implementation, and gain experience working in a team office environment. More advanced CCIT interns will have the opportunity to develop project management skills under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Web Design.

- Clear communication skills including written, verbal and visual

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks and projects
- Creative solutions to technical issues and communication challenges
- Demonstrated HTML skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with server-parsed scripting language such as PHP
- Experience with browser incompatibilities
- Familiarity with CSS
- Familiarity with Javascript (AJAX/jQuery)
- Experience with a Web Content Management System such as Drupal
The Web Design internship pays $14/hour and is a minimum six month commitment with a preferred one year commitment. Should the internship last through summer, CCIT will substantially subsidize summer housing expenses.
